Roachcock Character Zine
For this personal project, I designed and illustrated a full character zine based on my original D&D character, Roachcock—a grotesque, noir-inspired detective born from the gutters of a cursed graveyard. My goal was to merge my love for tabletop RPGs with my illustration and layout design background, creating a physical piece that felt equal parts character sheet, indie comic, and grindhouse pamphlet.
I built Roachcock visually using influences from creature design in The Thing, vintage horror comics, and gritty underground zines. From typography to texture, every page was crafted to feel grimy, paranoid, and alive—reflecting a world where bugs whisper secrets and justice is delivered from the shadows.
This project let me explore narrative design, worldbuilding, character illustration, and print layout all in one piece—and it remains one of my favorite ways I’ve combined storytelling and design.
